Process

We want you to have success. A successful website or print project hinges on more than just a great design. That’s why we have a strategic process to take us through discovering you and your site visitors’ goals and needs and developing solutions for success while keeping forward progress

Here’s what you can expect from the process:

Discovery > Conceptualization > Implementation > Deployment

Discovery

Information is key, and this is where we want to get all ideas, goals, needs and wishes on the table. It’s a good idea to have some of this thought through before we meet, so we can make the most of our time together.

Some of the questions we’ll discuss include:

  • What are your marketing objectives for this project?
  • Who is your audience and what are their needs?
  • What message are you trying to convey?
  • What is the competitive landscape and what are the industry best practices?
  • What are some websites that you really like (both inside and out of your industry) and why?
  • What makes you stand out in your field? What is your niche?

We’ll gather as much information as we can about your needs for the site, including your budget for the project, and based on these things we’ll present you with a detailed proposal for the project. Once we agree on the details, we’re ready to move on to conceptualization >>

Conceptualization

Architecture
We will work with you to create a sitemap or outline of the content and how it is related. This site architecture should be usable and friendly, so visitors find what they need and know where they are in the site. If time and budget allow, we may create “wireframes” for more complicated sites. (Wireframes are click-through page blueprints, a visual guide that represents the skeletal framework of a website.)

Design
We will develop 2-3 mock-ups of the site design. After getting your feedback, we’ll refine one of the designs up to two times to make sure you’re happy with it. The design’s purpose is to facilitate your goals and visitors’ objectives in addition to being aesthetically pleasing.

Once we’ve got the architecture and design done, we can move on to implementation >>

Implementation

Now that we know what the site should look like and how it should be organized, we can start coding the site templates in HTML and CSS, creating a working site based on a content management system back-end. The site will be hosted on our testing server during development so we can get your feedback during the process.

During the coding, your content needs to be written and edited based on the site architecture / outline we came up with together. Based on your needs, time, and budget, this can be mostly done by you or a combination of you and us. Because you are the expert in your business, we will rely heavily on you even if we will do some copywriting and editing for you.

When we have your finished content, we’ll propagate all the pages with your text and graphics. We’ll review the site for quality assurance and test it to make sure everything is working smoothly. You can also review the site on our testing server.

When all is well, we are ready for deployment >>

Deployment

While still on the testing server, your site is tested, combed through for usability issues, and proofread. You get a chance to review it and make final corrections that are necessary. When we get your final approval, we’ll deploy the site to your domain. Now we can share the satisfaction of a successful project.
