Acclaro Design

Acclaro is a user experience design company specializing in interactive, functional user interfaces for web, rich internet, and enterprise applications. Molly Cloyd, owner of Acclaro Design, works with a team of design professionals and she had one of her graphic designers create comps showing how the web site should look. I used web technologies to exactly re-create that look, using WordPress as a content management system, which allows Molly to log in and change much of the content herself on the fly.

Delisa Myles

Delisa Myles is a dance performer, choreographer, and teacher who has collaborated on projects with other artists around the world. She currently teaches at Prescott College in Prescott, Arizona. Delisa wanted a site to reflect her body of work and a medium in which to explore her ever-changing philosophy of human movement. I designed the site to emphasize her content, from her beautiful photos to her philosophy and random thoughts.

Peter Friederici

Peter Friederici is an award-winning freelance journalist who writes about science, nature, and the environment from his home in Arizona. His articles, essays, and books tell stories of people, places, and the links between them. Peter wanted to house his ever-growing body of work as well as link to the many publications that have published his work. He will manage his own content to add more of his work as time goes on.

Clown Camp

Clown Camp in La Crosse, Wisconsin completed its 29th year and is the longest running clown school in the world. They have participants from many countries, and while the site needed to be colorful and theatrical, it also needed to be well organized and professional. The director of Clown Camp has been updating the site regularly since it was completed. The site is doing well in the search engines, and new participants are signing up from all over the world in addition to previous clients.

Dave Snowberg Photography

Dave Snowberg has spent much of his life traveling throughout the world on multi-month bike tours and sea kayak expeditions, photo-documenting the unique environment and animals he encounters along the way. Dave wanted a way to easily display and sell his photographs when he’s traveling, giving slide shows or talks on his travels. I used three different PHP programs to run the functionality of this site: WordPress for the core pages, Coppermine for the photo gallery, and Zen Cart for the print store. I designed the templates for each to look similar, giving the site visitor a seamless experience on the site. Once the site was built, Dave took over managing his content in all three areas of the site.

Outside Forever

This is a website I publish in order to share my travel experiences with friends and family (I travel with my partner, the aforementioned Dave Snowberg) and to share helpful information for others who would like to get outside for an adventure of their own. Designed and built just a few days before our first trip in July, 2007, OutsideForever.com was featured on the front page of the Adventure Cycling Association’s website in 2008 to highlight the 10th Anniversary of the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route. It is regularly seen by about 1,500 unique visitors a month. Outside Forever has evolved into a resource for other adventurers and so I’ve monetized the site to support its upkeep.
